Originally from Lithuania Vaida Vaitkutė Nairn is a Scotland based filmmaker with credits in directing, writing, and producing across both fiction and documentary. Her work explores themes of memory, place, and human connection, often blending poetic visuals with grounded storytelling. In 2024, she was awarded the Linda Joy Award, through which she created a short film 'A Place to Wait and Watch', which premiered at the Reel Short Film Gala screening at the Atlantic International Film Festival in September, 2025. Currently, Vaida is deepening her knowledge in filmmaking at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, while​ while also developing a fiction feature and several documentary film projects.
